Problem with wireless Canon MP620 printer connection

    Hi.
I have just upgraded from BT Broadband Option 1 to BT Infinity. BT have installed Infinity and all PC’s and Laptops can access the internet and those that I want too can share files across our Wireless LAN.

I have a Canon MP620 printer that is wired to my main PC and prints fine.

Now, with the previous installation I had a Belkin Router and that was wired to the Canon printer and all computers on the network could print to it. Due to BT being unable to connect their Open Reach Router and Hub 3 to my previous connection (being only a plug in extension cable) they installed the Router & Hub on the floor below and replaced the face plate & box of the telephone connection point there.

The Computers are all connected to one another and the Infinity hub by Belkin N wireless USB adaptors.

I hope that explains enough about my basic setup and here is my problem.

I am unable to wire in (Ethernet) from the printer to the hub as the wife does not want the wired option due to obvious cosmetic reasons. The Canon printer has a female Ethernet socket for wireless support but the Belkin N adaptor has a male USB plug. Assuming that I can get an adapter lead - Male Ethernet to Female USB’ would connecting the Belkin N adapter this way enable the PC’s and laptop to see my printer and so be able to print?

If you can understand my problem and have any helpful suggestions please let me know.

    Many thanks
    Alan.

    Sorted.

The Eureka moment struck around 2am this morning

I was told my Belkin router was defunct and I should put it on Ebay but this morning I thought, Okay, it might not work for internet connection but maybe it would work as a 'server' to connect my other PC's and my printer. At first the Canon IJ networking tool could not find my printer so I reinstalled the Canon software and selected 'My printer is connected to my network'. Then it found the printer & installed it with a drive letter.

I can now print from all computers
