    WiFi Icon

My Wifi Icon appears different sometimes. The Wifi works with both Icons, but I was just curious what one of them was. == The one below with the cone is how it should be. But then sometimes I get the one with the monitor and a cord like the Wifi is unplugged, but it still works. I was just curious what the one with the monitor was supposed to mean?

The one with the monitor and the Ethernet cable is showing that the Ethernet connection is working.

Usually if an Ethernet cable is plugged in it will override the Wireless connection and Windows will choose the Ethernet connection. If you unplug the cable it will go back to using the wireless connection.

That is strange. It is a laptop without an ethernet cable. Oh well, no big deal, I was just curious. Thanks,

That is strange how it's showing up when it's not even plugged in. My wireless PC doesn't do this unless it's plugged in.

You can probably make it go away by disabling the network adaptor for the wired connection in Device Manager.

I will give that a try next time I have the laptop open. Thanks,
