Yep. Put them on the same subnet and run any of the various DLNA servers on the Win 7 box, including TVersity or Window's built-in Media Center. You will be able to access your music, pics and videos. You could install a special version of Linux (Yellow Dog) on the PS3 and you could use it as a real computer with full networking capabilities as any other standard pc.

Yes. At least 2 of them. One RJ-45 wired connection 100mbit, and wireless. About the wireless, I think it has 2 of those because it can connect to any router wirelessly and then be a wireless server to a PSP at the same time. That so the PSP can take full control of the PS3.

Like torrentg said any DLNA server should work fine with it for media streaming. For filesharing you can setup an http file server on your PC and access the files via the PS3's web browser -i have not tried this but I hear it works.

Edit- check this one out http://www.redkawa.com/fileserver/

rekawa is crap i have a PS3 and its best to either use MyCast your digital media with Orb 2.0 remote pc access software or HFS ~ HTTP File Server

Also if you allow media sharing within WMP and your PS3 you COULD just use WMP to stream, it may save some hassle

That's the one. HSF is the one I used way back. Worked well but orb looks even better. Thanks for the links.
For streaming I use PlayOn because it can do Netflix and has TONS of extra content via some sweet plugins...dirty ones too

    Hey Guys,

Been trying to connect my music to my ps3 and I've found wmp12 to be quite cack for large librarys because it keeps crashing when im trying to add my music to it!

Anywhos I got on board with orb and it looks pritty cool to be fair, I've just added my music folder and unfortunately only 5 albums showed?

All tracks are mp3's and are in a music directory sorted by artist then albums then tracks, I have roundabout 200 gigs of music so dealing with big librarys is a must for what ever it is I use to connect the console and my computer!

    Cheers for any help!

Use TVersity. Just disable UPnP Device Host and SSDP Discovery services on the host machine. Flawless. Upon install AND if you're using Windows Firewall, allow the installer to set firewall permissions automatically.
