Just moved from AT&T Internet to Comcast. Was able to connect wireless on AT&T modem, but when I try to connect to Comcast modem I get an incorrect pass code message. I know I have correct network key. Everything in house, tv, all wireless tablets, phones, other computers are connected with this key. Only computer with windows 7 is giving me wrong key message. Was on online chat with tech support for Comcast, not much help....

Have you tried removing previous connection info, restarting and retrying?

If you know that you won't need the connect(s) listed there, then delete them all, restart the computer and try your Comcast key again.
Thank you, I tried that, thinking it was like forget this network on my iPad...also tried renew ip ? Did that on c prompt as suggested by Comcast tech. I can follow directions pretty well. Don't have an understanding of what that was...but it didn't work. My sense is it has something to do with the security, but I don't have enough knowledge of this to be able to change it...appreciate the help

Most likely, the router assigns an IP address to devices after they connect. So I'm not sure what value renewing the IP address would be for a computer that had not connected yet.
Let's make sure that we are dealing with the Windows 7 way of connecting to your Wireless Access Point. We don't want to use any 3rd party software that mught have come with your computer. Glance at the video below. You can skip to about the 1:30 mark. Are these the screens that you are dealing with when attempting to connect?
Do you see a list of other Wireless Access Points to connect to?
Window 7 can handle the normal security types. What type are you attempting to connect to? WPA2?
Yes...those are the screens. There is only that network available. I tried to manually configure based on the information that came with the router, the recommended setting for encryption is WPAWPA2-PSK (TKIP/AES). When I went to drop down box for encryption I was asked to chose WPA personal, or WPA2 with TKIP OR AES. when I chose different combinations, then tried to connect, I got a box saying that the configuration didn't match and couldn't connect. I removed that SSID then started again. Without any luck. I also don't know enough about this that if I changed something then got it to work, if my network would be vulnerable. It feels like blind wiggling of wires under the hood, if you know what I mean...
I asked about the type of security to make sure that you were using something decent. It does not matter much to the connectivity issue since W7 should automatically detect the type of security being used. If there is an option on the router/Wireless Access Point (WAP) to use WPA2, then stick with that. But I would not change anything on the router since your other devices are connecting. One of those other devices should be able to tell you the type of security that it is connected to... I just don't know how to tell you to get that into screen by screen.
Is this a laptop? Can you move the computer so that it is close to the Comcast router/WAP?
I've not dealt with a lot of Comcast users, but I have worked with more than one AT&T users that was attempting to connect to their neighbor's SSID because the SSIDs are somewhat similar. Even if you only have one SSID showing, my thought was that the computer might be too far from your WAP and too close to a neighbor's. In other words, if we are attempting to connect to the wrong WAP - then we will never connect. I know that this is very unlikely, but I figured I would ask. Also, "too far" is unique to the device connecting. e.g. an iPad might connect from a long ways away, but a desktop with built in Wi-Fi might need to be much closer.
So, how many signal strength bars are showing on this problematic computer?

It's a HP all in one about three feet from the modem. All of my neighbors are two acres from me. I also have 5 bars. So frustrating. I also have a netgear modem that I was using in a room in my old house to extend range, could I use that? If so, how would I connect it. I usually am tenacious enough to stick with something until I get it figured out but I just want to get connected so I can use my computer in my office. Thanks for all your help
It's netgear WGT624v3 it's security is WPA-PSK TKIP. I already have network name and password for that one. Just don't know what cables to put in what port...
You would want to use WPA2 security... see if that is an option.
