How to clear Home Network / Win10 Networks settings

    HI,

I want to set up a Home network between 3 machines.. either Homegroup (if I really have to) OR just a good old reliable wireless Network.

Is there a way of resetting ALL the 3 machines.. and setting up a clean network?

Initially (months ago) there were 2 machines: a laptop running Windows 7, and a desktop running Windows 10 using Homegroup. All machines accessed a wireless router for internet (which still works fine)

After updating Windows 10, I now have the version that does not support Homegroup

I didn't bother setting up the network again as I didn't need it.

Now, I need to get it going again... AND to add a Dell tablet (Win 7)

All 3 machines can now access the internet through the router, but, when I open the homegroup (Control Panel) on the laptop or tablet, each machine says I've been invited top join a homegroup, and asks for a password(!)
The password the Laptop originally used to use is not accepted

The Win 10 machine can't be accessed over its normal network... it. too wants a password

I'm hoping to find a simpler solution than spending many days (and your valuable time) working out the problem, that's why I'd like to reset all and start again.

(My local PC tech store tell me to re-install Windows on all machines... because "network issues are vastly complex when using 3 machines" (Their words, not mine!)

    Thanks in advance

    Dave

Welcome to the forums. If you have the latest version of Windows there is no home group so you can't use that. You revert back to work group. So you need to create shares set the share to give everyone permission set NTFS permissions on the folder and your good to go. If you have old shares remove them and create new ones
