Newby help needed to add a second network & combine with existing netw

Hello all,
I have a problem connecting to a second network card as detailed below:

After experiencing problems connecting to the internet my ISP was only able to fix it by disconecting my router and connecting my PC directly the Cable Modem.
Because of this I thought that if I added another network card, I could have the PC permanently connected to the Internet via the ISP on the main network port and my router connected to the PC via a second network port. This is OK in theory but not so easy in practice, all the hardware is in place but I don't know how to configure Win 7 for the router to acess the Internet for every other device and/or printers etc.
Current connections:
Port 1 on PC --- to --- Cable modem
Port 2 on PC --- to --- Router --- Printers
--- TV
--- BluRay player
--- other devices
PC only talks to Port 1 with Cable modem
I am not sure if I have explained my problem properly, but if I have left anything out I will supply whatever info I have missed

Fixing a problem by removing the router is not the way to fix problems. Fixing the router by resetting it would be my first move. After that you will need to go into the routers settings and set everything back up again.

Your ISP did not have your best interest in mind with that move. I'm not sure why you need a second network other than your router was removed?

You will definitely need to connect Modem>Router>PC's.

Oh that's scary lol. I would definitely rather be connected behind the router's NAT and firewall.

It definitely sounds like your ISP didn't want to bother fixing the router. Of course, you could probably get it all working the way you're trying to by bridging the connections, but like I said, it's a lot safer to have all of your PCs and devices connected behind the router.

Anyways, Chev65 is right, just reset it and/or power cycle it for 30 sec to a minute. Different routers require holding the reset button for different lengths of time and power cycling it for different lengths of time, or both, and in different orders.. but seriously, if you sit down and keep unplugging it and resetting it, after a few mins these things practically fix themselves.
