    Sudden loss of permissions

Hey, I was setting up streaming between my 360 and W7 Laptop yesterday and encountered some problems so what I did was remove myself from my homegroup and eventually got it working...not the point...however since then I can no longer save files in anything other than the documents, pictures, music etc. folders or sub-sub folders because I no longer have permissions to do bloody anything. That also goes for all the things currently on my desktop which I can no longer access!

    can anyone help?

are you logged on as admin or a std user? you are going to have to revert the perms back to what they were or add your user name to the group that owns the files.

What I would do is to take ownership of the entire library. instructions are here Take Ownership Shortcut

    hope this helps

Logged on as Admin, the only account on the laptop. As stated I had the permissions but they suddenly disappeared after leaving the homegroup. Unfortunately the download link in the linked thread seems to be broke. Thanks for the help. I'll see what else I can work out.
