Unidentified network and Local Area Connection problems

    Hello,

I apologize for my English as it is not my native speech.

So I encountered a problem. I connected my internet cable to PS3, and after about 10 minutes connected it back to my PC and it shows me the problem: Local Area Connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration and Unidentified network. It wasn't the first time I connected my internet cable to PS3, though I had the same problem in the past, I just did what was written in troubleshooting and it helped, but not this time. There was no internet connection on PS3 also. I read a lot of solutions, but it didn't help so I thought maybe someone could help. Please write if you need some additional info, as I am not very tech savvy. Thank you in advance.

P.S. 1)Wireless is working fine. 2) My internet is not connected through router.

Try unplugging the modem for 30 seconds then pug it back in and connect your cable to your PC. A lot of time with modems its registered by MAC addresses. This is why its a good idea to get a router (The MAC address will never change).

If its still not working after that you might have to call your ISP and let them reset it for you.
