Windows 7 to xbox 360 sharing

Ok so running win7, trying to stream media to xbox 360.
I don't want to use the media center extender option, but I will if I have to.
I can't get the xbox to find the PC when it tests for connectivity.
I have allowed it through windows firewall, the only one that is running.
I have turned off my routers firewall as well as my anti-virus.
Is there a set of instructions I can follow to make sure everything is configured the way it is supposed to be?
My Computer is connected to wifi, the xbox is wired.
Please help I've been stuck trying random things for hours.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

I downloaded it and configured it, I think.
Serviio console shows the xbox and the associated IP in the Renderer profile.
When I try to connection on the xbox it gives me:
"Connection failed... etc." When I press more info it takes me to a number of suggestions that I have already tried.
Opening ports, same network...
Could it be because I am running wireless on the base computer and wired to the xbox?

I had to move the xbox to the wireless network in order to get Serviio to work, but it is now working.
Thanks for the tip.
Still can't get things to share properly without an extra program, but it better than nothing!
