Unable to detect WiFi networks after reinstalling Windows 7

I reinstalled Windows 7 on a Samsung Series 5 (5 months old) and now I cannot connect to (or even detect) any WiFi networks.

I am currently in an active WiFi environment (confirmed) that I used many times in the past, but when I click "Connect to a network" I get:

    "No connections are available."

If I select the "Troubleshoot" option, I get: "Troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem"

Prior to the reinstallation, a list of nearby WiFi options would appear and I would access the public option.

Basically, the computer is no longer detecting local WiFi networks.

I won't be surprised if this is something rather basic...

    Thanks.

Is your wifi turned on? Fn+F12 should turn it off or on.

Update the driver using Samsung Easy Software Manager

Nothing appears to happen when I press Fn+F12.

    1) No screen message (indicated I just turned WiFi on or off)

    2) Still get the "Not connected / No connections are available' message when I select 'Connect to a network' (previously a list of WiFi networks would appear)

I will try the driver update per your suggestion.

I think my Samsung Easy Software Manager might be lost. (?)

I reinstalled Windows 7 using the CD that came with the notebook ("System Recovery Media Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 For Distribution Only With a New Samsung PC").

I assumed (yes, I know...) that since it was a Samsung-specific CD, that it would reinstall the notebook to the state when I purchased it.

However, the install appears to have been a generic Windows 7 version, as a number of the folders that were originally on the desktop are no longer there. And I cannot locate the Samsung Easy Software Manager. Or Samsung anything for that matter.

    Still in WiFi limbo.

Downloaded and installed WLAN driver from Samsung site.

Downloaded and installed Easy Settings 1.1.1.6

When I open Easy Settings, I can select Boot Management, General, Power Management, Display and Desktop Background / Screen Saver with no problem.

However, when I select "Wireless Network", I get: "Easy Settings has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

But Windows does not close the program or notify me -- it continues to search for something in an endless loop.

Also, when I select Fn+F12, there is no indication on the screen of any change. Should a Wireless LAN ON message appear?

I will leave my WiFi connection shortly, but may be able to check later for additional advise / suggestions via a dial-up connection (please don't say anything , but hope to return to a WiFi connection tomorrow to continue the effort to identify and fix this problem.

    Thanks.

The s/n command worked fine: HU4Z91FC600392

The model command did not, but it was easy to get it off the bottom of the computer: NP535U3C-A01CA
