"Everyone" and "HomeGroup" Permissions on the same folder

So I want to share with another win7 laptop folder A, which has folder B, and a file name C.

Folder A currently has "Everyone" AND "HomeGroup" permission, folder B has "Everyone", and file C has "HomeGroup". I set the network location to "Home Network" when I connect 2 laptops directly using a RJ-45 cable.

What happens is on the other laptop I can only see folder A, which is empty. Can anybody explain to me why I have to set both "Everyone" and "HomeGroup" permission for the other laptop to see it ?

Generally speaking, using both of those shares Homegroup and Everyone, would share that folder with both the Homegroup and the Workgroup which would be other machines not included in the Homegroup but still part of the same network.

Removing the Everyone share would prevent machines not included in the Homegroup from gaining access.

You could have permissions on the C:>Users folder that are over riding these Homegroup style sharing settings but that can't be determined from my end.

Folder A and file C are in a folder with "Everyone" sharing, which in turn is in driver E - No sharing.
