Finally had more time to throw at the computer. Reinstalled Windows to no avail. Then on a hunch I relocated the computer so I could connect it via Ethernet. Voila, it now sees and is seen by every other device on the network. Unfortunately, I can't keep the router and computer in the same room permanently. I'm hoping now that if anybody can suggest why it only works on a wired connection, that will lead to a solution for wireless.

EDIT: Password protected sharing defaulted to On when I reinstalled Windows. Disabling it made Wireless work, not sure why it didn't affect Wired.

That is strange, not sure why password protected sharing turned on would do that, usually with wireless problems and Homegroups just deleting the files in peer networking fixes it right up.

That machine seemed to be pretty messed up with all the file repairs so maybe the reinstall was best.

When I mentioned deleting those files in peer networking, I meant deleting those files on all of the other machines in the Homegroup as well.
