The Default Gateway is not available - Fix Needed Please!

Hello

I've seen loads of people with this same error but haven't found the solution.

Every time i try to use my internet via Wireless it doesn't connect. I click 'troubleshoot problems' and it tells me that 'The Default Gateway is not available' - Fixed...

However i wouldn't be writing a post if it really was fixed now would i!

I have Fibre Optic Broadband with BT using Home hub 3.

When i first bought this laptop i had the same problem and fixed it but that was 4 years ago and i can't remember how!

Please help me before i throw it out the window!

Thank you

Ash

This link shows many solutions for this type of problem. You might even try typing the default gateway into the IPv4 properties per the link below. Of course resetting the router or modem should be attempted first just in case.

Windows 7 Unidentified Network, Limited Access, No Internet Connection Problem Resolved

It may also help to go into Device Manager under Network Adaptors, disable any adaptors that you aren't using like the Msoft Virtual WiFi mini port adaptor etc.

You might also want to try starting up in safe mode with networking to determine if the problem is from an installed program or A/V software. There are countless threads about this problem online but the solutions appear to be different depending on the situation.

If you are still having problems please post a screen shot of the ipconfig/all form this machine. :)

Default Gateway not doing anything
I am using a router with internet access with the default gateway of 192.168.1.1 and another router with intranet access with the default gateway of 192.168.105.4 and the internet router is not being accessed even with the correct address. It thinks those two are the same.
