Please Help. Computer Disconnects every 30 seconds. (video to show)

    Hello.

So yesterday we went from using WiFi on all our computers to using Netgear Powerline. the speed jump was just amazing and i cant be more happy with it. But my brothers computer keeps Losing connection every 30 seconds or so while he plays a game or watches a live stream on Twitch TV.

    Our Network items:

    ISP - Comcast
    Router - cisco valet plus
Powerline - netgear powerline 500 nano
    Modem - motorola surfboard extreme

I am not sure what could cause this. and i have tryed researching everything. Here is a 35 second video showing you what happens. i filmed the internet connected symbol by the clock in the lower right hand corner of the start bar to show you how it disconnects than reconnects while watching a live stream.

Please let me know how to fix this issue asap.

Thanks for your help i will check back here every 10 min or so from the time of this posting

    Hi moknathal

    Try this

Go To type CMD and press <Enter>

In Command Prompt window, type in following commands, and hit Enter after each one:
    ipconfig /flushdns

    ipconfig /registerdns

    ipconfig /release

    ipconfig /renew

    Restart computer.

    If that doesn't work...
Go to type cmd and press <ENTER>

    At Command Prompt, type in:
    netsh int ip reset reset.log

    Hit Enter.
    Type in:
    netsh winsock reset catalog

    Hit Enter.

    Restart the PC

Thanks for the quick replay Vistaking

I tryed both and they did not work. I ran CMD as admin. I went over to Twitch TV and started watching a livestream and it still happens.

    Any other suggestions?

    Vistaking

I think i have solved the issue. So we have 2 types of the netgear powerlines.

the one connected to the wall that goes into the router is a Netgear powerline 200 Nano.

the ones connected to my computer and my brothers computer where 500 nano's.

so i replaced the one going to his computer with a 200 nano and it is no longer doing the disconnect issue.

The strange this is that my computer has the 500 nano and it does not happen.

the reason we have 2 different types is because staples only had 1 of each one. and each box comes with only 2. we have 2 computers + the one that needs to go to the router.

come next week when staples gets another 200 nano in stock i am taking back the 500 nano's and making all the ones in the house the same and save me some money.

I just dont get why my computer has no issue but his did.

Thanks anyways for your help. Have always relied on this site for help and always will

    Thank you Vistaking
