New computer sets limit on file sharing size error 0x80070035

New member, I hope I'm posting this correctly.

I had a new computer built and it is connected to my wired home network. There are three computers connected and the two older computers work fine over the network. The new computer is the one I'm having problems with. It will allow me to transfer files up to 7.17 GB then will disconnect from the network and gives me the following error: 0x80070035. Network reconnects after rebooting.
The first time I tried to transfer anything after hooking up the new computer it blocked after a little over 1 GB. The guy that built the computer did a lot of changes to the machine and it worked fine for a couple of days, allowing me to transfer at will and any size file. Now it is blocking after 7 GB. I was trying to work around this by transferring smaller files and this worked for 12-14 file transfers at about 2-3GB each. The last file I tried to transfer was about 1.25GB and it shut me down after transferring about half.
I understand windows has limits built in? and he supposedly disabled the limits? If this is correct it has obviously enabled the limits. does any of this make sense and how do I disable the limits set by Windows and make sure they don’t become active again?

Windows 7 Ultimate x64

There are no download limits with Windows 7, the driver would be the actual limiting factor in these cases. Sometimes changing the advanced settings of the driver can help but it's hard to say which settings would have an effect.

You should first try going to Windows updates to obtain the latest drivers for your system. :)

Thanks again for your help, I checked for driver updates and installed a couple, I haven't had a chance to check if this helped on not. I'm going to try to do some transferring later this evening. I have to hook up the old computer to do it so it takes awhile. I'll post either Thursday or Friday with results.

Well, sorry about the delay on checking on the drivers repairing the transfer problem. Right after I posted last I got a large print order that needed to go out and it tied up my computer until yesterday. Today I had a chance to check on the tranfers. I tried to transfer a 10.1 GB file from the old computer to the new initiated (drop and drag) through windows on the new computer. It transferred 3.63 GB and then shut me down and kicked me off the network as before, so the drivers were't the problem. I'm trying to get the guy that built this computer for me to come out an try to fix it, again. I don't know how soon he can get to it, he is rather slow on the response time.


If you can think of anything else I could do, please let me know. Is it possible that the belkin router has some limits set into it?

Routers don't typically have these types of limits built into them.

There are a few other things that might cause this, one is Anti Virus software, which one are you running?

For the other possible problem I would need to see a screen shot of the ipconfig/all from this machine. :)

"Intel (R) 82579LM Gigabit Network connection". The both appear to be enabled, is this right? It's different because after about an hour of research I believe I found a more direct cause of the problem rather than adjusting the advanced settings.

You should wait to install the other network device until after I see the ipconfig/all which will most likely lead to a direct solve of this particular problem. If this is the problem I think it is then it will be very easy to solve.

You just need to type ipconfig/all into an elevated command prompt then post the results here.
