    Which version of Dreamweaver?

I'm using Dreamweaver CS4 on Win 7 and had no trouble in setting up FTP other than having to type in the folder paths. Dreamweaver's browse was out by one level.

If you have a version working on Vista/XP then an easy way to set up ftp is to export the site settings from the site manage window and import it into your Win 7 version.

Hmm... The live view seems to work ok on my system although I'm not convinced it's worth having. I'm using the 32 bit version of Win 7. Could the fact that you are using 64 bit version be why you get different results?

Now that I've installed Dreamweaver again on the 64 bit full version I have the same ftp problem as you - but only when I try to ftp to Bravehost. Other sites hosted elsewhere still work fine. I've been through all Adobe's suggestions of selecting passive ftp; increasing the server timeout in Preferences > Site; trying all combinations of server compatibility in the site manager; re entering the id and passwords; using a slash in the host directory - all to no avail. It has to be a Bravehost problem but why didn't this show up when I was using a 32 bit OS?
