    Network performance throttling

    Hello,

I am having trouble playing games as I experience a lot of rubberbanding (significant lag). My ping and network connection are particularly.

By doing a google search on this issue I found that this problem could be related to network performance throttling (a feature of Win 7 64 bit).

    More specifically,

In the registry I should be able to change:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Multimedia\SystemProfile

And then an entry on the right for 'network performance throttling'

At this position I do not find an entry for network performance throttling.

I should be able to change the value from '10' to '0xFFFFFFFF' for network performance throttling.

How do I add this please? Can I add this to the registry?

    Thanks,

    Nevica

    Please be carefull:

    Backup the Registry

    Ok lets start:

    1: click the start button
2: type in the search bar "regedit"
    3: Locate the following path:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\
    SOFTWARE\
    Microsoft\
    WindowsNT\
    CurrentVersion\
    Multimedia\
    SystemProfile

It will look like this in my images. Right click on what is in the image "1" click modify
Then in image "2" it shows a little box and enter in the FFFFFFFF make sure its on hex like shown in mine

    Hello,

There is nothing in my right hand pane:

    'NetworkThrottlingIndex' and 'Systemresponsiveness' don't exist.

Can I create these from scratch?

I was offline there for a small bit. But I will be going off again now in a few minutes.

If the registry is missing it's not just one he has to add in. There is a few related to that one that he would need to check.

So you don't have that there? Maybe you can try a repair install? Repair Install
