    Internet Fast But Unstable?

    Hey,

I just recently switched ISPs and I'm experiencing a strange problem.

My old ISP was very slow and I was over paying for the slow internet connection. I'm not sure how slow it was but my max download speed was 124kbs. So I switched over to Dish Internet so I could pay the same price but get a faster connection. It is indeed faster but I think its unstable. I get a download speed from about 600kbs-700kbs and goes as low as 400kbs but rarely. Its indeed much faster then my old ISP but the problem is I feel that it is much slower. It takes forever to load web pages and I lag like crazy when I play video games. Even though my old ISP was insanely slow I never lagged when playing video games and the web pages loaded much faster.

My PC is about 50-60 feet away from my router.

    Thanks for reading~

Satellite internet has disadvantages. Do you have other options in your area? If using wireless it would help to use a Ethernet cable.

My old ISP was also Satellite but it was slower but loaded faster then my current Dish Internet.
Or would it being satellite still be the problem? I'm guessing distance or something of the sort?

I would only use satellite for internet if you had no other options.

Is there anyway I can find out what other ISPs service my area?
