That is what I did previously. But I did it again, and the results were same.
Note: The firewall was kept on.

When I ping, it says "Destination host unreachable", and in Network and Sharing Center they mark each other as Unidentified Networks
Here is some more info on this:
Destination Host Unreachable - Reasons and Solutions | Internet Technology Blog
I preformed a tracert 169.254.xxx.xxx on both systems.
This happens on both systems.Code:Traceing route to 169.254.xxx.xxx over a maximum of 30 hops 1 Computer [169.254.xxx.xxx] reports: Destination host unreachable. Trace Complete
They can ping themselves perfectly fine.
Try safe mode with networking (on both machines). Same problem?
Are you sure crosscable is working correct?
Sorry for not replying sooner.
I ran both in safe mode, and when I try pinging, the same happens.
I used another cable, and the same results appeared.
Something interesting happened was that I typed in the incorrect 169.254 address, but it still pinged the other computer's address without me typing it in.
I still need some help to solve this issue. Bump.
