Networking - Cannot access C-drive on other Win 7 PC
Hi Guys
I am sorry it this is the same question and it has been asked and answered, but I have read and read and pulled my hair out and cannot work it out.
I am starting a fresh thread just to see if there are some people who can help. The old thread was getting messy and I got totally confused. I am so sorry for all those competent people, but networking in the bush is a nightmare.
I have tried to set up a Workgroup, but no good, so I am back to Homegroup and still no good. I really do not care which group I use, as long as it works.
Again I have read and re-done and shared all the drives etc... there is some voodoo in windows. If it were easy there would not be so many posts about networking.
Please guys.... it can be done, can someone please tell me the vital step I am missing
There are 3 PC’s D-PC, T-PC and F-PC. I have setup a whole lot of stuff that I cannot get rid of, like:
I have 3 PC’s all on Win 7 Pro. I have set up a Homegroup. From Main-PC (F-PC) I can see the network map: D-PC; F-PC; T-PC.
F-PC is the main one and I can see the c-drive on D-PC. T-PC will take over from D-PC if I can get it to connect to the network. I have no passwords. I have no idea how I got D-PC to see the network, but I remember it took weeks. Hope I can find a smart person to help.
I get the following errors:
· Window cannot access T-PC
· Problem with wireless adaptor or access point
I keep trying to map the drives, I have some really strange ones for F-PC and I cannot delete these, but when I try to map T-PC it cannot connect.
PLEASE can SOME ONE HELP… I am close a breakdown. My wife is very unhappy…..
