My computer won't connect to the internet for a while after sleep or w

My computer won't connect to the internet after awakening from sleep mode or sometimes after a restart. It'll last for maybe 5 minutes and then I have connectivity again. However, it occasionally lose connectivity again and not work for a while.

I've tried both ethernet and wifi and both have the same issue. Please help!

    Hi samuelho,

It appears to be a conflict caused by an anti-virus or some other program installed in the unit. It could also be an issue with the internet connection or the modem/router in use.

Would like to know if you've tried using this laptop with another network. If yes, does it continue to exhibit the same behavior? Please check and share performance of the notebook with an alternate network, if you haven't tried that already. Alternatively, you may also try using another computer/laptop with the same network. This will help you identify if network (Internet connection/modem/router/etc) is the root cause.

If the issue persists, the issue could point at a corrupt firewall. You may try removing the security software / firewall to see if that makes any difference. Please use an uninstaller tool to uninstall the anti-virus program completely: AV Uninstallers You may choose to install the software later, once the issue is diagnosed.
Note: Choose an appropriate tool from the given list, based on the anti-virus program installed in the notebook.

If removing the security software does not impact the internet performance, you may also try performing a clean boot. This will help you to isolate the program/service causing trouble. You may refer to the following tutorial for detailed steps: Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

Hope this helps. Do reply with the findings. Will take it forward from there.
