    Unfortunately not.
Programs still return a connection error and Chrome and IE cannot connect.

Click on the type Internet Options inside the Search programs and files box . Press <ENTER> when you see Internet Options under Programs (1)
    Go to the tab Connections
At the bottom, click on LAN settings
If there is a check ? Uncheck the " Use a proxy server for your LAN and check Bypass proxy server for local addresses "

All options are unchecked. I've tried turning each of them on in turn as well, to no avail.

    No problem.
I attached the screenshot. Steam generates an error saying it can't connect to the server and tell me to connect to the internet before trying again. When I try to run a Java or Adobe update, I get a similar error.

    Inside

Click on the wrench icon on the far right click on Options then Under the Hood click Change proxy settings…

Go to LAN Settings. See if there is a check next to Use a proxy server for your LAN
