Keep getting access denied when trying to connect to Samba share

I have a Linux machine that I use as a home server.
I know the username and password are the same as on my Win7 Ultimate x64 PC.
I can see all the shares, but when I try to connect, using Windows Explorer, and enter the password, it continuously tells me "Access Denied". (See attachment)

I also use SyncToy to keep files backed up, and that program has no problem connecting and transferring files.

I have disabled password sharing in Win7, and done the Security policy trick.

    Any help would be appreciated.

"Do you have Windows Live Essentials installed on the Windows 7 PC? The Windows Live Sign-In Assistant portion of that software makes a small change to the way Windows 7 communicates over SMB that breaks the version of Samba included with Ubuntu.

While the Samba team has fixed the official version, Canonical has not yet released an updated version for Ubuntu. In the meantime, you can get it working again by uninstalling the Windows Live Sign-In Assistant.

Incidentally, Windows Live Essentials will sometimes install via Windows Update so it could have installed without your knowledge."

    No Luck removing Essentials

I removed / uninstalled Windows Essentials. The only part of Essentials I had installed was the Photo / Movie Maker.
I am still getting the same error.

Try using the settings for the Local Security Policy in the link below on the Windows 7 machine, these settings often work to allow access to certain Samba servers and older Windows servers. Let me know how it goes. :)
