Can you ping your default gateway?
if not check your TP cable and IP configuration.

In addition rightclick on the connection icon in System Tray to run its Troubleshooter. Then if necessary type Troubleshoot in Start Search box to run the Internet troubleshooter.

Can you access internet in Safe Mode?

Run the Avira Uninstaller (removal tools) for common antivirus software - ESET Knowledgebase

Can you ping 8.8.8.8 because if you can the problem is dns setting.
But if you can't ping 8.8.8.8 the problem is your routers connection to internet. Try to restart router or do a new dhcp request.

You can also try to use another router or plug your computer direct into the wall and run ipconfig /release & ipconfig /renew in cmd.

thenks tomerello for your reply. I have tried ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew but it didnt helped.
didnt tried ping to 8.8.8.8 yet (this is something new) , neither restarting the router.

let me try it out tomorrow at office.

Can you System Restore to before removing Avira and the Internet worked?

Then uninstall using the tool this time.

Turn off your modem and router. Shut down your computer.
Reboot your modem and then reboot your router.
Start your computer and see if Windows picks them up.
Sometimes these reboots fixes things and sometimes it don't. It's free to try.

The pages which were opening were only a few http and no https of the same website . rest no websites were opening.

no other AV was installed after that as couldnt find the offline trial of avira internet security.

even removed the upperfilter key from registry.

checked and there were no NDIS filter under the network adapter properties available

i tried pinging 8.8.8.8 and it wasnt doing that , so i restarted my router hoping for a reset but still nothing .

on the 2nd pc which started behaving the same after i uninstalled avira from the first PC , i did a system restore today again but even that was not willing to work.

Finally reinstalled Windows . but still , the same situation , can open only certain http pages (but not all http pages, neither any https) :|

how is this even possible !!!!!!! :hmm:
