I am trying to use the built in VPN client within Windows to connect to my school. I can connect fine with the Cisco software and other alternative software. I can not seem to find the area where I should input the Groupname with corresponding preshared key. Any advice would appreciated.

I haven't yet tried Windows 7. I haven't been blessed with the experience. However, I do know that Win 2000/XP both had VPN functionality bundled with the OS--you could click on "Make New Connection" under Network Properties and create a VPN adapter for PPTP or IPSec/L2TP VPNs.
