    Router prioritizing certain laptops


    Hi there,


    We have two laptops and an Ipad connected to our router's WiFi, the problem is one of the laptops is always prioritized in internet speeds. One day laptop #1 has very fast net while laptop #2 is extremely slow and vice versa. For example this morning, laptop #2 was doing fine, as soon as laptop #1 was powered up the internet became extremely slow. It wouldn't be the settings on the router since its been factory reset many times. We both use Windows 7 laptops.

    Can you tell me what other information I need to provide you with?

    Can you run a full system scan of Laptop #1 with your A/V and Malwarebytes - Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware download

    A lot of malware (In particular Worms) can eat a lot of bandwidth in order to lock down a network therefore one of the first steps I would do is ensure that the machine is free from malware.

    If it comes back clean then see if you can test on another network (Possibly a friends or relatives) and see if the same symptoms occur
