    Networking does not see computers but can ping them


    I can ping the computers but I cant see them.

    You can try turn on Network discovery :)

    Yes. On Homegroup. Also on home

    A computer will only show in the network tab if that machine has something available to share.

    Does the machine have a shared folder?

    For testing purposes try to create a test share and see if the machine appears - https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...rmissions.html

    Also for testing purposes ensure that password protected sharing is turned off as this can cause implications - Password Protected Sharing - Turn On or Off in Windows 7

    You are trying to share the entire C: drive on your machine as well as open it up to everyone and Windows isn't liking it.

    Remove the permissions that you have applied and create a folder on your desktop, once done share that particular folder

    Let say my documents, my music and picture only and printer documents?

    Click Start> (Your Username)

    This should bring up a list of user folders similar to mine. Individually share the folders that you wish to have accessed. If you feel that is sharing too much then open a folder and share the folder within that
