Single Network Computer Cannot Access Internet
Hello, this is my first post here and I apologize in advance if any information is missing or incomplete.
I recently set up an old linksys router to act as a wifi repeater using DD-WRT firmware. It appears to be functioning fine, except for the fact that the desktop computer I set it up with cannot access the internet. All of the other devices on the network have totally normal (and better, actually) access to the web. As I said, it appears to be working fine and I do have a thread open at the DD-WRT forums in the event of a router issue. At this point, however, the problem is isolated to my desktop, which I why I'm seeking help here.
What originally was happening was that I could access the WiFi network on said computer for a few minutes, then it would stop working, and I would have to switch to the other network (the original or the repeater, or vice versa) in order to get it to work again. That cycle repeated over and over. Today, it's not working at all, and won't let me access the internet through Firefox or Chrome on either network despite showing a full internet signal.
The computer in question is an HP p7-1020 running Win 7 64 bit. I have disabled and re-enabled the wireless network adapter. I have triple checked that it is set to automatic IP and DNS and not on static. I have tried disabling ipv6 and then later renabling it. I have released/renewed my IP several times. I have flushed the DNS. I have deleted and re-added the SSID. I have rebooted the computer traditionally and done a "hard" power cycle as well. All of these have offered no solution. I'm typing this post from my laptop, running perfectly on the repeater network, as it sits directly in front of the desktop that won't access the internet, which as you might imagine, is terribly frustrating.
I tried googling and searching the forums for a similar problem, but if one exists I must have been using bad keywords to find it. I'm really stumped as to what is going on, as I've tried everything I can think of to remedy the situation.
What might I try next?
