Intel 5100 Limited Connection. When will this end?

I've been reading other similar posts for weeks and I still haven't found a permanent solution. I updated my Intel 5100 drivers to the latest (13.0.0.107) and have tried ALL previous ones. I still am having BIG issues with my connection to the linksys router. Yes I have it set to maximum performance, yes I've tried disabling IPV6, and I still have gotten nowhere. It connects normally through wire and other laptops connect flawlessly on wifi.

Also, I'm having problems with power management. First, when I put my laptop to sleep or hibernate, it never prompted me for the login password even though the option was on. Then I tried disabling and re-enabling it which I believe solved the problem. And when I change one of the plan options, like changing the "turn screen off" time and "dim screen" time and "put to sleep" time, the changes never apply (maybe they do after a reboot). When I close t he screen lid, sometimes it goes to sleep, other times it hibernates, and sometimes it just freezes. It's been one hell of an experience with Win 7 and this is already the RTM, so can anyone PLEASE tell me what's going on?

Thank you for you help, and sorry for the long post

Anyone? I also just tried turning off the "Allow pc to turn off wireless card to save power" option in power management but this hasn't solved the problem. The problem is really taking place half if not most of the times i try to connect.

    Thanks in advance

I am having the same problem since upgrading to Win7, so let me know if you stumble upon a solution. I also upgraded my intel wifi link 5100 driver to the latest version. The wireless connection seems to be flaky when I first bootup or when I wake up the computer from hibernation. After a certain period of time, the connection seems to magically improve.

Those are exactly my symptoms. Do you happen to have a notebook? Haven't found a fix yet, but for some reason it hasn't cut today even after waking my notebook up, but it's bound to come back. When I do manage to connect to the internet, it works flawlessly. So it's one of two extremes.

The number of disconnections has dramatically decreased after I rebooted both my router (Linksys WRT54GR) and my ADSL modem. I do get limited connectivity every once in a while (maybe once a week or two weeks) but generally it's been pretty stable. You may want to try that.

    Hope this helps
