Slow wireless AD connecting to mapped drives

    Hello,

I have a new LT, that works great when connected to the LAN via ethernet cable. However, when connected to AD through wireless, the login to AD is not bad, but the connecting to the mapped drives takes a long time. A messgae comes up "Could not connect to all drives" and then the LT will stop processing (e-mail etc) until the drives refresh, once the drives are available, then it goes back to workinf asa per usual.

I have updated the wireless card, but cannot figure out why this is the way it is. Is there a GP that I can set to not have network drives verified or connected etc?

    Thanks,
      My Computer

    Hello,

Is the wireless card an N as well as the router? You may try changing the Wireless Mode (B/G/N) on both, usually the router's setting is defaulted to a Mixed Mode, this might help.

    Thanks for the help,

Found the answer yesterday - it is a GP (Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon (enabled)). Since then the user can open apps on startup with no delay, while the network connects in the background.

    Thanks,
