Internet not working sometimes

I'm not sure why this happens, but every now and then, the internet on my computer doesn't work, and it only seems to happen when I'm running Windows 7. My PS3 and my mums laptop are still connected to the internet, so it's nothing wrong with my router. I also tried different ethernet cables, so I know mine isn't faulty.

Is this a common problem for people running Windows 7? I'm not sure what other details to give. My internet just doesn't work, so I try to go to the network adapter part, and disable it, to re-enable it, which sometimes works but also doesn't. It only seems to work when it feels like it D: so please help.

Ok a few more things we need to know.
One your system specs? Cant trouble shoot your hardware or software without knowing what you are using.
Two is this a wireless care or a standard wired LAN card?
Three what type of router do you have?
Four have you done all the driver updates for the computer?
Five do you have the newest firmware on your router?

Are you running homegroup? If not you can disablee IPv6 in network and sharing. It has been shown to cause random dropouts.

1) You mean like RAM, hard disk size etc.?
2) Well, I have an ethernet cable from my computer to my router, but my mum connects to the router wirelessly.
3) I have a Wanadoo Livebox.
4) I believe so, yes.
5) I do indeed.

I'm not really sure what homegroup is, but I think I disabled IPv6 anyway, along with QoS.

Re-enable QoS, I know a lot of people get the wrong idea of the service back in the Vista days but in Win 7 it works a lot better and might help fix this issue.

Internet not working..

Hi Willz!!
As you said there are two dives you are connecting, so I am sure there is not any problem with your internet operator also. you need to check your PC, I think this is only way to short out this.

Okay, I'll re-enable it, but the problem was happening before I disabled it, that's why I was advised to disable it to see if it made a difference, but it doesn't.

It's definitely a problem with my computer, or how the settings are on here.. well, only with Windows 7 it seems.

This problem has happened 3 times tonight, and I have no idea why. My internet suddenly goes down on my computer only, I go to the network thing and it's "Identifying.." for ages, so I restart my computer and it persists. I end up unplugging my router and plugging it in again for it to work, but that doesn't always work.

What's going on?

If it works after unplugging your router then plugging it back in the i think its your router. I had one were one of the ports was bad and went in and out on me. One way to be sure is to tell your mom to get off the internet for awhile :P and straight wire your modem to your computer bypassing the router if it continues to go out it might be your network card.
