New install... cannot connect to Internet...wifi or lan

I just dumped Windows 8 and installed a newly purchased copy of Windows 7. The devices show only Bluetooth and nothing else.
I highly suspect the software is missing the required drivers.
I load Linux Ubuntu live disk and have no problems at all. In fact, that's what I am using now.
Any help here would be appreciated.

Welcome to SevenForums . When you go to Device Manager do you see any ? If so right click on the item with the symbol select Properties . Click on the Detail tab on the drop down under property and select Hardware Ids and do a prnt screen and upload the image .

@vistaking... Thank you for the reply. I did find the following information which, I suppose, tells the story.
    Problem devices:
Ethernet controller - device not installed
Network controller - device not installed
PCI Simple controller - device not installed

I am going to run the cp over to my computer guy tomorrow and let them handle it.

Your reply led me to discover the above, so again, thanks
