    Windows 7 HomeGroup Issue


    Hello

    I have a laptop that i re-imaged with windows 7 ultimate and it wont join to the HomeGroup
    no matter what i do it wont.

    So i give my laptop static ip did not work
    Renamed it did not work
    disabled Ipv6 and then try it finally ask me to Join the HomeGroup but it wont because it needs Ipv6 to be enabled
    Enabled Ipv6 it wants to create a HomeGroup
    Rebooted all computers in my network and switches and routor and modem no luck

    what i see is that this laptop when it connect to my home network it thinks it is a new network and it get spreated from rest of my network all other devices get added with no problems

    I have
    Win xp 32
    Win8 Pro media center 64
    win8
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
    2 roku
    1 chromcast
    2 iphone
    1 ipad 2
    ps3
    wii
    ps2
    and some other devices that all communicating fine with windows 7 HomeGroup that was created 2 years ago

    This pc in question was part of homegroup under same CD of windows 7 OEM that came with it
    Not sure why now i have this issue i re-images this pc at lest 5 times in last 2 years and no issue at all
    no network changed nothing happend

    before yesterday my wife got windows 8 and it join the homegrop with no issue


    Can someone advise

    Ho do I set up a new Homegroup?
    It sounds like you have two machines with the same name which can not happen and be successful.
