I have a modem provided by time warner. I have a router of my own - wireless, 4 port, Linksys E1200.

Wouldn't your Default Gateway or DHCP Server IP address be your cable modem?

Yes, your Default Gateway will be your IP address. If you open a command prompt and type the following:

    Code:
    ipconfig
Once done, the Default Gateway IP address will be your router to which you can enter into a browser and access the settings. For example mine is 192.168.0.1:

    Hope This Helps,

In my case, Default Gateway is my router IP...am I doing something wrong here?

If you wish to change settings then it would be on the router side. A modem has little or no configuration required. If you wish to do QoS then it will be on your router

I'm not using a router. I only have a DSL modem and I can change the settings on my DSL modem by going to my default Gateway address.

Post a screen shot of your ipconfig /all.

I'd like to see what's different when you have a router connected to your cable modem.

Go to your Default Gateway address in your browser.

It looks like your default gateway ip address is: 192.168.10.1

I would think this would be your cable modem.
