cannot see wireless network (old laptop)
When I go to set up a network connection, the 'wireless' option is not even there. When I attempt to add a wireless device, it tells me it is disabled (with no way to enable it).
I have been rummaging through these posts and trying everything. I have an old Dell Latitude (x300) that I use to play around with. I've had XP, Vista and Ubuntu installed...and each time I had no problem connecting to my (wireless) router. For some reason with this 7 I can't because it can't see it.
I've rebooted the router. I've went to Dell to find the latest drivers for my NIC card, but with this being an old laptop they are not working (I've tried quote a few). I even tried some of their new drivers to no avail (system claims incompatibility). Went in device manager to make sure the network adapters were there. Went to services to make sure WLAN status = started/automatic. Heck I've even tried plugging in an old Belkin wireless G USB adapter and still nada.
Right now I am lost. Any suggestions? Read something about "delete the auto make link" in another forum but I have no idea what that means.
