Just tried using both iphone tethering (3G, vodac) and home wireless nework (optus broadband). Both are active and offered internet browsage. As for which using one for download and other other for browsing ???

You can connect to the internet with both types of connections simultaneously. It will work, i used to have the USB HUAWEI E156G as well and able to get both home and it connected. The iphone's tethering option is the same as the HUAWEI in that they get connected to your USB port.

The question is, how to do restrict upload to be on one connection and download on the other. This could depend on the Browser's settings.
