Please follow everyones advice here before you look into my suggestion. If following through with their steps somehow dont work for you please just check a few things since that driver appeared randomly... sticking with the theme of things happening randomly, make sure these settings are correct:

Goto:
Network and Sharing Center > Advanced adapter settings > Right Click Your Wifi Adapter > Properties > Configure > Advanced Tab

Make sure Speed & Duplex = Automatic and then find and disable 802.11n if it appears there.

Again, this is last resort type of shot in the dark. It seems like you are headed in the right direction though so continue with their suggestions. The reason I even suggest this is because your issue has been linked to those settings. Your issue does seem different but you just never know.

I've followed everyones advice so far, which, as you said, takes me in the right direction.
I checked which settings are set for the two options you mentioned. However, neither of the two options are available for my network adapter. Both are simply not there.

Worth a shot anyway, like I said everyone has a different situation and setup which makes troubleshooting interesting to say the least. Good luck
