Skydrive removed from PC, but files still on C drive

I unlinked and uninstalled skydrive from my laptop, but all the files and icon for skydrive are still there.

I have run out of space on C drive and will just access from the net until I can upgrade my PC.

How do I remove the files from my hard drive, but not lose them from the cloud?

    Thanks.

Hello and welcome Deno mate personally I do not use the cloud I am really paranoid about my data. But in short why not just back up them to an external and then delete them from the HDD that way if the cloud does get deleted then you will still have them. :)

    Hi ICit2lol,
Thanks for your suggestion. I did back them up to an external drive, and it crashed, and I lost everything. So I am a bit paranoid like you, but with external drives.

Yes Deno for that very purpose I never use anything larger than a 500GB drive and always Seagate if I can. My reasoning is the larger the drive the more data it holds so two or three smaller ones to me are preferable to even a 1TB one.
Had one once and it went south so why I do what I do. But I suppose it depends on the amount of data eh?
Again I ma even more paranoid about the cloud to be honest you cannot see it so to me it is not something I have a great faith in. Besides who knows what or who is accessing th data "offshore"??

Yep, all good points. I mainly store photos, but some personal stuff too.

I may go with 2 new external drives.

Yep well doing it that is ok if one has the time but its a personal thing I suppose.

Backing up the registry always needs doing with CC I know but as a rule I always back it up using the regedit feature after a fresh install and at random intervals when I think necessary.

Registry - Backup and Restore I do mine as per my pic
