Disable auto login to access shared folders on network

    Dear Friends,

I am on a Home Network Group having 4 computers with Windows 7
My main PC have some usefull files and folders, which I shared for sharing on my Laptop (within smae home group).
But, I want to disable sharing for other PC's
Or want to disable auto login to access shared folders on network.

I already used clearing the saved login credentials, but it works only first time access (ask for ID and password) but after first login it never ask the credentials again.

Means I want to make such thing that every time if any user (on other PCs) try to access the shared folder, he should be ask for user ID and password.
It may be by windows default feature (if any) or through any other third party software.
So, please help me on this issue.

Messing with the auto log in won't give you what you want here. And password protected sharing has some glaring faults of remembering passwords which make it not really worth using.

So you want the shared folders on the laptop and the main PC to have exclusive sharing between them. The other two machines you want to prohibit access to the shared folders on both the main PC and the laptop.

It's very simple to do this. Remove the two machines that you want to restrict access for from the Homegroup. Homegroup - Leave

This will prevent them from accessing shared folders on the Homegroup machines unless you share each Library with "Everyone" using the Homegroup style sharing settings like in the picture. You will still have access to both machines in the workgroup.

The "Everyone" share relates to machines that are in the Workgroup but not included in the Homegroup.

So only add the Everyone share if you need to share a specific Library with someone in the Workgroup.

This will work perfectly provided that you didn't make any adjustments to the default sharing settings for the C:\Users folder which is shared by default.
