    Cannot activate ICS, Error?

    Hey guys,

I m using windows 7 home premium 64 bit, yesterday i was trying to create a wireless port from my pc to
my phone so i could share the internet, but i started facing a problem, the problem is that whenever i try to on or activate the ICS by selecting "wireless network connection" in the drop down box of the properties of the connection i created for my phone from pc, it gives an error saying "An error occurred while Internet Connection Sharing was being enabled, the dependency service or group failed to start" Help

Go to search/run box, type services.msc, hit enter to open Windows services. Scroll down to where it says Internet Connection Sharing, set to enabled, it's sometimes disabled by default. You could have other problems causing this.

But why would anyone use ICS if they already have a wireless router?

The ICS service has many other dependencies "other services" that must also be enabled in order for it to work. The link below shows what is required. You also need to use a WHQL Microsoft certified driver with the virtual WiFi driver installed in order to have ICS working.

I won't spend much time here getting ICS to work, it's unreliable at best and hardly worth using, I say this because all I see is countless complaints about using it. By all rights, you should be using a router for wireless connections.
