Tutorial or Site for Improving LAN througput ?
Guys I would really appreciate a response or two.
I need to learn some best practice for identifying/remediating bottlenecks on simple office LAN's. The norm these days in small office is that most of the connections are wireless, most of the embedded resources are wired [though that is changing]: fax, printers, etc.
When I do spot checks, I find really huge variances in throughput for the users and am baffled by this.
One specific I wonder about: Some of these NIC's/Chipsets/wifi adapters etc are broadly used and well-understood. For some, there are certain "must do" changes in configs that greatly help the average user-experience. If anyone knows of a resource where such "tweaks" are collated for the most common chipsets and/or devices, I would really appreciate a notice of such.
As to the tougher issues of interaction between routers/bridges/AP's, I am really poorly educated and need to climb the curve.
thanks
