Need Help setting up a network bridge between a Laptop and a Desktop

I have an HP laptop running windows 7 home premium, and a self-built desktop running a variation of windows 7 ultimate. I've been using a network adapter for the desktop, but the connection is quite slow, and I'd like to share my laptop's good connection. My setup is as follows:
    [Router]----Wireless--------[Laptop]-------Ethernet cable---------[Desktop]
I have gone to network connections, disabled the sharing option, and created the bridge. It is successfully created, but on the Desktop, nothing happens. It simply says "unidentified network," and I don't have any internet. I'm stuck, at this point. I know that people often ask for an ipconfig, so here is mine, for the laptop:

    Windows IP Configuration

    Ethernet adapter Network Bridge:

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :)

EDIT: This ipconfig is with the Bridge currently running. ask if you need one without the bridge.

Hello and welcome iDDinner mate it may seem too simplistic but have you tried a USB to USB between the laptop and the desktop?

That seems easy, but I don't have a USB-USB cable, and don't want to buy anything. I'm just trying to find a temporary solution, until I can move my setup. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

    Thank you ICit2lol.
That beats the heck out of Home Group or such.
Just hook the cable up and you are hard wired to share everything between computers, if I understand correctly.
