    Recommended router type.

    Hello,
So I recently moved. I signed up for 100mbps internet. Received the modem/router combo device. I do not receive any good wifi signal at the opposite side of the house.
When I talked to the live support they told me the router within the device only gives signal from 25-30 ft.

So I am going to pick up a new router in about an hour.
I was told to get a 10/100/1000 router, but from my brief reading this seems overkill if I am not using a gigabit network and can not utilize the 1000.

Is there something I am not understanding? Will a 10/100 router be sufficient?

I am looking to get a 300mbps wireless N router. Just not sure if I should spend the more money to receive the 1000 instead of the 10/100.
    Thanks.

Your LAN (Local Area Network) can use the full speed if you're PC adapter can. It helps if you have more than one PC that's using the router. If there's not much difference in price, I'd go for it. Other than that, it is overkill.

By the way; When I first saw the title, I was thinking of a wood router. I just picked up a router table for my wood router and the brain signals were still active.
