can two pc's on subnetworks of the same network communicate directly?
Question in the title with an image attached. Kinda confused. Sub-netting gets crazy in my mind.
i believe it is, yes

No, those PC's will not be able to communicate with each other as the range can only have 14 host addresses.
Below is a handy tool for working out subnets.
Online IP Subnet Calculator

I suggest that you spend alot of time memorising and researching subnets.
Have fun with IPv6
yea ipv6 is a pain, but at least subnettings kinda easier. this cisco class is killing me on top of my high school classes which count as college credit.
since my last post i can subnet pretty good now and im pretty knowledgable. cisco crams like a whole book into my face per a week or something.
anyways thanks for the reply:). Subnettings fun, doing the calculations, provides a break from memorizng all these different acronyms like arp, EUI, OUI, MAC, DHCP, ICMP, POP, DNS, etc, the list grows on forever in agony...
