Network connected but pages will not load

    Hi all,

I am running Windows 7 x64. I cannot access web pages through my browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE). My network connections appears fine in the toolbar, I can ping sites effectively through CMD, and I am able to run fully functional in Ubuntu. I thought the issue would be with the drivers, so I restored a to a version from before I had this problem. The only site that seems to work is gmail, where I can load and refresh my email, I'm not sure if this is a different protocol that allows this to work. All other web pages show the downloading loading image, but then quit due to problems loading. I tried running the network adapter troubleshooter, but it returns that everything is functioning properly. One last thing, when I reboot into Windows 7 I get an pop up message from Java about a Security certificate that I can choose to ignore or connect to, when I choose connect I still have problems. Any ideas on what went wrong? Thanks for the help!

With browsers not able to go anywhere the problem usually relates to the network stack requiring a reset with winsock or TCP/ip becoming corrupted. The Java pop up could relate to a malware so running anti virus software scan's may be helpful.

To fix this type of problem just unzip and click on the file below, it will reset the network stack and reboot your machine automatically. Let me know if it helps or not. :)

Hi chev65, I ran the unzipped file to reset the network but no luck, the same problem is still happening. Thanks for the help, though. I also ran an Avast full virus scan, but zero infected files were returned. I did another restore just to check, but no luck with that either. Any ideas? Thank you again!

I recently tried disabling all anti-virus software in case that was causing any problems, but still no loading on the web pages. Is there any more information I can provide that may help?
