Windows 7: Can Not Access Bluetooth settings !?!?!?!

Can Not Access Bluetooth settings !?!?!?!

I have tried multiple avenues to create a sync partnership via bluetooth between my ideapad and htc 620s, to wit:

MS BT Stack
Toshiba BT Stack
BlueSoleil BT Stack

All, to no avail.

I can establish a serial connections (fleeting) when using the Blue Soleil and Toshiba Stacks... but still can not use the activesync service (just serial port... which will not create the correct comm partnerships... and stereo headset).

But, what I find to be truly strange is... when using the default MS Stack (with CSR radio drivers), I can not access the Bluetooth settings via the task tray (right click). Furthermore... putting both devices in discovery mode (my laptop via add device functionality) neither device detects the other.

I am dual booting with vista x64... and have no problems using the same laptop, dongle, phone and default ms stack (obvioulsy different OS). Any advice would be appreciated.

Solved with fresh install.

windows 7 x64 on desktop & x86 on nc10

I have had the same problem here on my nc10 - also installed a fresh copy and it seemed to work for a couple of weeks, now the problem is back and exactly as described above.
I do not want to try another fresh install. Can anyone make any suggestions?

Windows 7

I just upgraded my HP dv6000 notebook to Win7 32-bit and my small BT USB dongle is recognized but won't work with Win7. I had been using BlueSoleil in Vista, but that didn't work after the Win7 upgrade and I am not paying to upgrade it if there is supposed to be built-in basic BT functionality in Win7. The dongle is recognized and the basic drivers are installed, but the computer cannot find any devices, for example my cell phone which our Prius recognizes immediately. Worse yet, if I plug-in the BT dongle the computer can no longer find ANY devices under the Devices and Printers control panel. It just searches for hours and never lists anything. I have to reboot with the dongle removed to restore normalcy to that control panel. And the settings are not accessible either.

Anybody else experiencing this? I cannot afford the time to do a clean install. The upgrade took over 2 hours as it is.

Thanks in advance.

This Worked For Me

I was having the same issues as listed above, also using windows 7. Everything would install but I could not access settings for the blue tooth dongle, What I did to fix this was entered the services settings (windows search - services -) and check everything that says bluetooth. also change all settings to automatic.

Good Luck.

Yep, saw something similar mentioned the other day about a similar issue, and the above worked for them.

Windows 7 64bit

I am able to set both "Bluetooth Sevice" and "Bluetooth Support" to 'Automatic' (as opposed to 'Manual'), but I don't understand what you folks mean when you say "check everything that says bluetooth.

Is there supposed to be some check box that is missing from my computer alone? Do you mean check that these services are set to 'Automatic'?

Please help... I would like to be one of the people who say "Thanks, I did ______ and it works fine."

Issues with Bluetooth settings not saving.
