    Sync Center

In Control Panel, this item--Sync Center, is to sync files between computer and network folders. I opened it and I was told I have no sync partnership and sync activity. And there is zero explanation what this whole thing is.

What is it. And what are network folders? (I Binged it and it got worse...there are several blogs on what to do with them but no explanation what they are.)

    Hello Pappi,

See all of the Offline Files tutorials at the Tutorial index below to help get more information about this. Afterwards, please feel free to ask any questions you may have. :)

OK, first let me research the net for definition of offline files. Off hand, I presume these are files created while disconnected. I have done many things offline(mostly tweakings ...deletion, uninstallation, file transfer between folders, personalizations, etc. ) but I had no idea they(meaning whatever I did) get filed... as offline files?

That's correct. It basically saves a copy of the files in the network folder locally on your computer, and keeps them synced while online. This way the files will always be available to you whether you are online or offline.

This is where I am now. It tells me to open a Net folder, right click on a file....and this is as far as I got. Stuck! "Always available offline" option is not there to click.

That is just part of the sync manager.

To setup to sync files offline, you would first need to do what's in the tutorial below. :)

OK...I clicked Network in Start Menu and the option "Always available offline" is not there. I think it's because I am on public network and network discovery is turned off(for safety I chose to have network discovery off; also, folder/printer and public file sharing off). When I get home to my own router(private network) I shall try to proceed to where you are shown in the screenshots. I hope that's it.

Unless there's a way to do this while on public network without turning Network discovery on and file sharing on?
