Extremely slow internet when coming out of sleep mode.

I've run into this issue fairly recently, within the last couple of weeks or so, and can't figure out what the deal is. When trying to find a solution online, I keep running into people having this problem on laptops or with a wifi setting. As my computer is a tower with a wired connection, the solutions I've found won't do.

    Here's what happens.
I'll leave my computer alone, either for a couple of hours or overnight, from a gaming or internet surfing session. Typically I only leave a browser window open with a few tabs. When I get back and awaken my computer from Sleep Mode, I have an abysmal internet connection. I'll go to pick up from where I left off, or start a new journey, only to be stopped in my tracks. If i hit refresh the page won't load again, or if I start watching a youtube video that was already pulled up it goes to a certain point and stops to buffer. Sometimes the issue resolves itself if I wait a few minutes, most of the time it doesn't until I perform a restart.

I've seen some people having a similar issue in addition to the internet sometimes not working after a start up. Mine always seems to work after restarting my computer, so I don't think it's the same issue. Any help on the matter would be appreciated. I do have my build on my profile, if there's any other specifics needed let me know.

Have you tried to refresh the internet connection by power cycling the modem and or router(if applicable)? If not; I would try unplugging both modem and router; wait about a minute or so; the plug in the modem and let that boot; then plug in the router and let that boot and see if that helps resolve the issue. If not; post back and we can go from there.
