    Realtek Adapter/Controller was not found

    Hello,

I am facing this problem of the Realtek Network Adapter/Controller not being found.

The Realtek Network Adapter/Controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode enabled Please Plug the Cable

I tried restarting, but this doesn't seem to help.

My WiFi Adapter works absolutely fine.

For the record, the hardware configuration of my Laptop is as follows -

    HP Pavilion DV 6-1355 dx
    500 GB HDD
Intel Core 2 Duo T6600@ 2.20 GHz Processor

    Welcome to Seven Forums,

Was the realtek network adapter working before? If Yes, you may a System Restore. If that didn't work please post back.

Well, I did a clean install of Windows 7 a few days back and Yes it was working before and even after the clean install. It is only a 5 days back that I noticed its not present.

However, before doing the system restore I was wondering if I would lose the files which were downloaded and saved in my Laptop now. These are some huge (8-10 GB) work related files which am concerned about.

    Try this one out:

    1. Go to CONTROL Panel >> DEVICE MANAGER.
    2. Right-click on your REALTEK NETWORK ADAPTER then PROPERTIES.
    3. Select POWER MANAGEMENT tab.
    4. Uncheck the option “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”.

This did the trick when I had the same problem. Also you can try uninstalling/re-installing the driver for your LAN card. And making sure its the latest one.

    Hope this helps! ^^

No, it will only change system stuff. Documents will remain same. But just in case, you should move the files to My Documents if not already there and also keep a backup on a usb drive just in case.

@Undone :: the Network Adapter is not listed at all....that's the problem.

@Computer0304 and @2xg:: tried system restore, it didn't work unfortunately.

Can anyone suggest something else please ?

Then you need to get the LAN driver. If you can't use wifi, you can download drivers from another pc to install it.
