I'd download the Wi-fi inspector but I can't since my laptop can't connect to the network and I'm only using a tablet.
I'm using an asus U35jc running on windows 7 and since letting it hibernate with open tabs (something I do all the time) yesterday, I found that it's no longer connected to the network (wifi) after turning it on again. I have tried rebooting my laptop countless of times, tried rebooting BOTH the router and the modem multiple times but to no avail. All the other devices at home can connect just fine. My laptop would just go from asking the password and then proceed to troubleshooting mode after I enter the password. I've had the same problem before but it usually gets resolved after some rebooting on the network. Also, I can connect on my neighbor's network just fine but since removing his network from my list, I've been having the same problem with his network. Now I'm just stumped. Any help?
Things I've tried:
-Restarting the laptop
-Restarting the laptop, the modem, the router
-Restarting the modem and the router
-Pushed the restart button on the router for 30 secs.
-Removed my wireless network on windows, rebooted, enabled
-Uninstalled avast antivirus software
-Internet connection works fine with the Ethernet cable plugged
Command prompt <ipconfig /release> and </renew> gives me this message:
>No operation can be performed on Wireless Network Connection 2 while it has its media disconnected.
>No operation can be performed on Bluetooth Network Connection while it has its media disconnected.
>No operation can be performed on Local Area Connection while it has its media disconnected.
>No operation can be performed on Wireless Network Connection while it has its media disconnected.
